OUR STORY
Our sugarplace was one of the first in the area to use all plastic pipeline. Roger's dad, Albert Wood, and his uncle Donald, with the help of the county forester piped the sugarbush up in 1970! We marketed as Albert Wood and Sons and when Albert passed away we became "Wood Family Maple".
In 2015 we formed an LLC with Roger Wood and his sons, Kevin Matte and Andy Wood along with Roger's brother Jim Wood. We chose the name Kirby Mountain Maple, LLC. The whole family (five generations so far) have a sincere love of everything maple. The new sugarhouse, which was built between 2015-2017, is a wood fired with an RO. We are located on the southeast side of Kirby Mountain in Caledonia County. The area has granite based soil and we are known for our light (fancy), golden delicate syrup. Yum!
